Ravlete

In view of the powers that be on the Olympic Committee, obviously not many with a sense of humor and certainly not fiber artists, the normally scheduled Ravelympics (knit or crochet event during the Olympics, held individually or in teams, worldwide, on Ravelry) has changed names. To Ravellenics.

I don’t care what you call them, I only know I enjoy the virtual camaraderie of knitting something while watching the Olympics and knowing that thousands of other like mindeds are doing the same.

My first Ravellenic project was a cowl from stash yarn. Something fast and easy peasy, something to hit a good speed, a qualifying event as it were! I chose to knit the New New Shale Cowl by Leila Raabe , in Vintage by Berrocco in a black cherry’esque colorway.  Great pattern, very mindless with terrific results, loved the yarn as well and used almost all of one skein.

It’s large enough to wear up and over your head should that be something you want to do, and it sits nicely around the neck in a prettily scrunched fashion as well.  It’s another gift for the Christmas gift closet!

I’m knitting another cowl, the Inspira Cowl from Celery Stalked. Large and very graphic, with blocks of stacked ribs offering color.  Can’t wait to show you more as it comes off the needles.

Knit on (while enjoying the Olympics of course)!
