I’m not painting the studio for the moment, it is just about all glass and super high ceilings anyway. I did want to add a chalkboard, one of the zillions of chalkboard projects done by diy’ers all over the world.
I started with Chalkboard Paint from Lowe’s and roughly applied the first coat to the wall, no need to be diligent about level or neatness particularly at this point. The paint dried for a day and I applied a second coat. Another day to dry! Then using rejected colors from the sample paint quarts I’d purchased from Sherwin Williams I used the happy pink to paint a freeform frame and let that dry. The next day I added the bright green to paint accents.Colors: pink- Inner Child, green- Gleeful.
Now to give it a skim coat of chalk then it will be ready to use. I procrastinated for a bit deciding if I wanted to use the newer liquid chalk pens or go old school. Good old fashioned chalk won out….. now to get the last bit done.
