Over the last 10 years or so I’ve decorated 5 different homes for Christmas, FIVE! Makes me sound a little crazypants but there you have it. I’ve decorated big, I’ve decorated small– and everything in between. I’ve even been on a few real life holiday home tours. This year I’m on the island in the place I call the Happy Zone for Christmas. No snow and no terribly cold temps make me happy, and a bike ride on a ‘wintry’ beach is just perfect. I actually wasn’t going to decorate the house this year….. I haven’t been out of boxes too long and have been painting the house like a fool along with keeping other plates spinning. The family is all at the “other” families homes this year so I thought…. meh…. why bother. Needless to say I opened a box of Christmas and before I knew it the house was decked. Not as decked as in years back for sure, but perfect for now.
Enjoy a little peek, please! And Merry Christmas! By the way, kick the sand off your shoes if you don’t mind!
The kitchen tree always makes me smile with the piggy chef to the little stand mixer…
Cute mugs on the counter and the kitchen tree
Santa sits on the counter too, and Nigella Christmas MUST be there as well!
Simple in the bedroom this year, a little bit of mini art from Savannah
with some homemade trees and a rustic piece from a gallery
A little vignette on the overlook upstairs, sweet!
Upstairs in the hall (l) and a corner vignette on the ‘shelf’ up the stairs
The angel says Merry Christmas on the way to the office (r)
A pair of newly knit fingerless mitts tucked into a little holiday wall sconce
The 4 ft. tree has all of my fave ornaments, some purchased some crafted
A pinecone garland above the kitchen sink (grainsack valance) and (r) the crafted wreath
on the door going out to the Studio
Just a tiny sparkle for the wee powder room
(l) nestled in the antique dough bowl on the sofa table
and (r) in the wine rack
From the full wall of built in’s comes a parade of Christmas, the village houses crafted
Love the handmade cloche at left…. and the village with it’s sparkly setting…
And below, this blogger is not afraid to show the Studio
in the middle of getting ready to wrap and mail!
{along with a couple of projects in the works}
The newly finished chalkboard in the studio has it’s first message!
Leaving the Studio is a reminder that peeking is allowed!
From my home to yours,
a
Very Merry Christmas!
