Hi and thanks for spending some time at Knitting Contessa! I’ve just moved to “my island”, a place where my soul sings and I’m at my most creative. It was a huge jump…… but life is nothing without risk, right?
I know that life is often a hard place, with things in the path that can never be expected or in many cases called for. I know that when it is all said and done there is only one thing that stands true: who you are and what you have done with what is in your hands.
For those of us of who are creative nature, what is in our hands (besides loved ones and friends) is the act of making something. Sometimes the work of our hands is meant to last for generations and sometimes the blessing of our creative spirit only lasts until the next meal. Regardless the creative soul is a gift and a blessing to be nurtured and honored.
I hope that you can find the happy music that speaks of a great time of joy in your life (mine is unabashedly 60’s and early 70’s), crank it up and improve a known skill or take a deep breath and embark on a new creative skill that will fill your heart and renew your spirit! Knitting, Crocheting, Quilting, Sewing, Mixed-Media and Watercolors all wait to enrich you and make your ‘primary’ makery deeper, richer and fresh.
